  • Leading mechanical testing products manufacturer Zwick Roell Group’s HIT Pendulum Impact Testers are benchmark instruments for plastics manufacturers and processors.
Accuracy, reliability and ergonomic design are the main features of these devices, the following features appearing for the first time in such machines:

  • A HIT pendulum impact testing system automatically identifies a pendulum in use and therefore always determine the measured values in the correct range and according to the Standard in use.

  • A world first is the use of carbon double rods for the pendulum. This provides a high level of stiffness in the impact direction and a strong concentration of masses in the impact testing area.

  • Every pendulum is equipped with a quick-change unit, allowing pendulums to be changed rapidly and without the use of tools.

  • The optional pendulum disc brake is virtually wear-free.

  • Operator convenience is a prominent feature of the HIT pendulum impact testing systems. Easy-to-reach operating elements, on the same level wherever possible, help avoid user fatigue.

  • The electronics contain a high-resolution digital encoder for accurate measurement of the impact angle. For integration into laboratory mamagement systems an RS232 interface is included, with PC connection via plug and play and USB port.

RKP 450 - Pendulum Impact Testers up to 450 Joules

  • The pendulum impact tester RKP 450 can be used for tests on metals to Charpy, Izod, Brugger, impact tensile tests and wedge impact tests to all commonly used DIN, EN, ASTM, ISO and BS Standards.
Using  special version temperature conditioned wedge impact tests in a temperature range from -45 °C to +85°C can also be performed.

  • The basic unit consists of a vibration-damping steel casting, providing a high level of mechanical stiffness and ensuring reliable test results.

  • Operation is simple and convenient, with central controls and easy specimen loading and pendulum release. This is particularly important for tests to ISO 148 und ASTM E 23 with temperature-conditioned specimens, as they must be impacted 5 seconds after removal from the temperature conditioning area.

  • Operation is further simplified by quick changing of Charpy fixtures and pendulums, coupled with straightforward access for maintenance, servicing and calibration plus easy removal of specimen remains.

  • testXpert® II provides access to powerful software packages for all commonly used Standards plus instrumented and non-instrumented tests.

  • The pendulum impact tester RKP 450 fulfils all necessary safety requirements such as DIN 51333, EN ISO 13489, plus additional European Standards coming into force in 2009, providing the highest level of protection for operator and instrument. An officially (TÜV) certified safety control system with redundant microcontrollers monitors the entire safety set-up.

  • The electronics contain a high-resolution angular position encoder for precise measurement of the angle of rise. An RS232 interface is available for connection to laboratory databases, with PC connection by plug and play via a USB port.
